HAPPY BEING ME

My urologist, Dr. Cu Phan, asked me if we could collaborate on a song. So I took a stab at a first pass and surprised him with, “Happiness is An Empty Bladder.” A urology-related song, right? Wrong! (That song can be found on my MORE page.) I had come up empty. He had a bigger idea in mind.

“I want a song that helps children feel good about themselves,” he said with a broad, childlike smile. What a meaningful concept! So I wrote this second song in what I am unofficially calling my “Happiness” series – a song that would never have been written without Dr. Phan!

Thanks also to Angie, my singer, who helped make this song something I’d be happy to have teachers share with kids—though, in truth, this message transcends age. Last but not least, I want to thank Kay, Sue, and Kate for their great feedback. Knowing I have great minds to bounce ideas off of always makes me happy.
